Computational Systems Biology

Centre of Excellence in Computational Complex Systems Research

Teaching Activities

Major subject Computational Systems Biology is part of the educational curriculum of the Laboratory of Computational Engineering. The aim is to train all-around bio-computing experts for research, development, design, consulting, and services in public as well as private sectors. The major subject belongs to the study programme in Bioinformation Technology.

Major Subject

Computational systems biology major familiarizes students with the basics of bio-systems -- especially their molecular, cellular and tissue level structures and processes, and with the mathematical modeling and data-analysis of these systems including the development of computational methods and information processing techniques.

BioIT Study Programme

Bioinformation technology aims for multidisciplinary engineering science education, combining information-computing-technology (ICT) with bio- and medical sciences. The programme has science and research emphasis and gives good background for doctoral studies.
