Goal is to introduce and advance Bayesian statistical methods for health sciences, so that patterns hidden in medical, behavioral, and genetic data can be revealed to describe, predict and follow disease progression both in the individual and on the population level. The research aims at better understanding and modeling of complex and large health-related data sets to allow medical professionals to interfere with disease progression or epidemics at their early stages or even before they begin.
